Have you been watching the news over the past few days? I first came across this new craze on Twitter and I kid you not, I felt my lunch come up immediately at the thought of teens or anyone for that matter, eating… detergent. Yes, you read that right, detergent. Maybe these kids think they need to wash their insides with…soap? Stupid.
Social media is a powerful tool and we all know that it doesn’t take long for something to circle the internet if enough people engage in it. This has helped bring awareness to a multitude of issues but at the same time, it has made spreading ridiculous trends easy. My little girl is yet to start taking her first steps, but I am already worried about what things are going to be like when she is older. I really hope we won’t have to deal with the same craze then!
So what’s this new trend all about?
Teens are eating Tide laundry detergent pods on video and posting it on YouTube. Although this started back in 2014, it died down for a while. Till it picked up again at the beginning of this year. Why? For the sake of popularity.
Yep. The whole concept is DUMBASS!
As a parent, we can only do our very best to keep our children safe. If you see your child trying this stunt, please stop them. Not only can it cause serious vomiting, diarrhea, it can also lead to breathing difficulties. Detergent is used to do the laundry. That’s it.
