Recently, John and I managed to escape for a very rare date and decided to attend the Taskmaster Live Experience in London. Having read a mix of reviews, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect, but I’m pleased to report that we had an absolute blast! If you’ve been hesitant because of the feedback, here are my honest thoughts and tips to help you navigate the experience.

The Parking Conundrum
First things first—parking! We drove in and initially struggled to find a spot. Some parking areas near the venue were either closed off or inaccessible on Sundays. Fortunately, we stumbled upon the Decathlon car park right next to the venue, which turned out to be perfect. Be sure to check the access times for this car park, though, as you could run into issues if you’re outside their operating hours. We were there for the afternoon slot, and everything went smoothly. If you’re driving, this is the spot to park! Decathlon Car Park.
First Impressions
Upon arrival, the staff were super welcoming and made us feel right at home. We grabbed a quick drink at the garden bar (which is indoors, despite the name), and the place was set up beautifully. I’m a bit particular about cleanliness, so I was relieved that the toilets were well-maintained. Major win in my book!
Before heading inside, we took some fun photos. There are plenty of opportunities to snap pics before entering the “Taskmaster House,” which is a replica, not the actual house, as I had previously thought! Always good to check the FAQs to avoid surprises.
The Tasks and Fun!
Inside, you get to take part in a few fun activities. One of the tasks involved finding something hidden in the museum. It’s much more fun if you actually try to find it rather than cough Google the answer, like some people did.
We did the Absolute Casserole experience, which was brilliant! You’re assigned to a group based on the lanyard you receive. I was in the “potato” group (of course), and when it was time, each group lined up and got ready to head into the rooms. The host greeted us and explained the tasks in each room, which were incredibly fun. The top five participants moved on to the final round, and guess what? Both John and I made it! John won the final challenge, and we snagged a free photo on the iconic Taskmaster chair—though I accidentally made a goofy face just as the camera clicked! Oops.

Post-Experience Drinks & Merch
After the experience, we grabbed another drink and checked out the merchandise, which was quite nice. It was a fun way to wind down before heading back home to Hertfordshire. All in all, the entire experience, including our drinks and snacks, lasted about 2-3 hours.
Tips for Future Visitors
- Ticket Prices: I highly recommend signing up for the ballot instead of buying tickets directly. The ballot tickets are much more affordable compared to buying them outright. Save yourself some cash!
- Group Participation: Go with a group if you can. If not, you’ll be grouped with strangers, which wasn’t an issue for us, but I can see how it might be for others.
- Holding Hands: There’s a part where you may have to hold hands with other participants. I skipped this bit and only held John’s hand, but it’s something to be mindful of if you’re uncomfortable holding a stranger’s hand.
Overall Verdict
The Taskmaster Live Experience was so much fun and definitely something we’ll remember. I made a ton of friends and, of course, forgot all their names by the end of it! 😅 But that’s part of the fun, right? It was a great reminder to let loose, enjoy the moment, and remember that I’m more than just the daily grind of family and work.
If you’re up for a day of light-hearted fun and laughter, I can’t recommend this experience enough!
