Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage ( White or Savoy will work fine)
  • 500gms of minced meat ( pork and turkey )
  • 170gms of cooked rice ( use leftover rice if you prefer)
  • 1 large finely minced onion
  • 1 egg
  • 150 sauerkraut, divided
  • 2 cans (14 oz) tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced or crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (or more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (or more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock or water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Prep Time: 1 Hour
Cook Time: 2 Hours

Servings: 12-16 stuffed cabbage leaves
